Bruce,

I got to share The Rising concert in Tacoma, WA. with my 11 year old son Sam. It is an experience I know that he will never forget, although I did have to bribe him to go with me by buying him a gameboy advanced! It got him through 8 hours of waiting in line with me, well worth the wait. Please come back to The Pacific Northwest, we live in Portland, saw that show also. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful gift to all of us, you have really gotten me through some hard times and lonesome days! Kathy and Samuel Ebeling

Dear Mr. Springsteen; My name is Karriem Shabazz. I am an American of African descent living and studying in the Holy Lands. I am writing to solicit your support for a project I think is very worthwhile. I have partner shipped with the local T.V. station here to present the history of the development of the Zionist State of Israel. It is the first comprehensive film to come from the Arab World documenting these events.

I have documented the events leading up to the most expensive debacle the United States has ever been involved in. The issues surrounding Philistine and the "Israeli Jews'" illegal attempts to steal the land from its rightful owners have far reaching implications. It has been a contributing cause of the WTC disaster as well as many other such disasters; both on American soil as well as around the world. The need for this film is that in violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution, Americans are being kept deaf, dumb and blind to the truth of America's foreign policy in the Holy Lands and the Arab world.

The title of my documentary is: “The Struggle to Save al-Aqsa and the Holy Lands.” This production is a prelude to regular monthly 30-minute programs I intend to produce for the silent American majority. The target population for my productions are the white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant, Catholic, non-Zionist Jew, registered voter, tax payer.

I have contacted you because you have strong contacts in the media. This is not the typical unbalanced and censored footage of Philistine the Zionist owned networks normally show. Therefore, because of its controversial nature and content it has been virtually impossible to get it on air. I need outlets in the United States, Europe and the world. All of my productions include professionally produced film footage of historical incidents that have and are happening here in the Holy Lands.

My purpose for producing this film is to stop the killing of Philistinian youth. I believe that when America, and the world see this film and its riveting narration that it will activate the hearts of the American people and they will be moved to action. They will contact their political representatives in Washington and tell him to bring this situation to an end by forcing the Zionists to the peace table in earnest; or face decreased appropriations from the $7 billion annually that is sent to this region by American tax payers to kill young rock throwing boys and innocent school girls. Statistics show that there were 350 children killed by Israeli soldiers; and the majority of these children were either going to or coming from school.

Please give me permission to send the film to you. I believe that once you view it you will learn historical facts that were not well organized and unclear. I need your mailing address and a phone number. Intend to send it by express mail. I can be reached at i-w-v@scs-net.org,.

With kindest regards,

Karriem Shabazz, President IWV, Ltd.

Fans of Bruce Springsteen may be interested to know that Bo Diddley, one of the founding fathers of rock & roll and the popularizer of the world-famous "Bo Diddley beat", has announced that he will be launching his new website and online store this coming Thanksgiving. The website, which with typical idiosyncrasy he has named "Bo Bo Diddley's Turnup Root", is located at http://www.turnup-root.com/

In conjunction with his new website, Bo Diddley is currently also shaping up to release CDs of both brand new recordings as well as a series of exciting limited edition collectors' CDs of previously unreleased archive material recorded in his various home studios during the past 40 years. Right now, visitors to his website can shop online at Bo Diddley's Online Store powered by CafePress.com and purchase a range of cool-looking and exclusive limited edition items including T-shirts and sweatshirts.

For further information, please visit: "Bo Bo Diddley's Turnup Root" at http://www.turnup-root.com/

It's Andrea again. I have been reading other fans posts messages to you and some of them are very touching. I don't know if you will ever read this (like so many others have said) but it really feels -I don't think I can explain how it makes me feel that you may just read these messages! Bruce Springsteen reading my thoughts...how unbelievable! That would be the turning of the tables... usually we hear your thoughts! Keep thinking and sharing your thoughts with us..never stop! PLEASE! It's really funny to me to read these other messages from people who say they are your biggest fans...I always felt I was your biggest fan :-)! I bet that most of your fans don't have in their possession some of the stuff I have (I'm bragging now) I have a cardboard figure of you that I begged for from a record store about 20 years ago..they gave in and gave it to me :-). Anyway, it holds pins (I've got alot of them, too) and it states on it "put Bruce where he belongs, on your chest"! It's a hoot! I also have all of the issues of the fan magazine Thunderroad - even some of the original envelopes they came in. That may sound impressive-but there were only about 6 or 7 issues ever made. But, I still have them so to all you other fans out there ...I am the greatest fan ever!! :-) I have much more memorabilia to brag about but I don't want to make all your other fans jealous lol. Seriously Bruce, some of your messages were very touching, some were very short but to the point, some were from Germany, some from Israel, some from the States but what they all have in common: they all love you and the band and they have appreciated your music, your energy, your everything! We love you! Don't ever stop being you! Andrea from Indy or Springsteenfan77@aol.com

Dear Mr Springsteen, I'm 16 years old and I'm French, so my English is not very good. I know a lot of people who don't know who you are and I think it's so bad because you are simply the best. I have two of your albums and I love them very much !! In the album THE RISING, they are a lot of songs with great lyrics, and when I bought it there was the lyrics in French. I think you are the best singer of the world and I admire you for all you are. You are The Boss !!! Sincerely, Lucie B.(Le Mans, France).

I really want you to email me! I understand that you have lots to do, but please try to find time just to say "hi" so I know Ive talked to you! It would mean SO much if you could!!! Also Im going to my first concert in Nashville sometime in Dec. and ive decided to go to one of yours :-D Im excited. C ya!

Mr.Springsteen, I just want to say you're music is brilliant. If anyone needs details of one of your shows, they really need to experience it firsthand. I first heared your music in '81 when I was only 10. I got my hands on The River album; hence a Bruce fan for life. You are truly an inspiration to many through your music, your contributions and your loyalty to your fans. I have many fond memories of growing up listening to your music. Thanks for all you do. Best wishes to you and your family; including the E Street Band and to all you Bruce fans out there. Fan in Connecticut,USA

I got my brother tixs to see you Dec. 8 (Char). They are in the handicap section (between the lower & upper sect.). I am concerned that he won't be able to see the show very well from there. I understand the floor is general admission, which means that everyone will be standing. Obviously if that is true they would be in his way and the view would definitely be worse. Isn't there a way that a section of the floor can be reserved for those that are wheelchair bound? Life in general is so unfair to him that I just want to try and get him the best when I can. If there is anything that can be done, contact me at etwarstler@juno.com. Thanks, Teresa

Dear Bruce, My name is Hen, and I'm 19 from Israel. I know it's a slightly chance of you to read this but I'll give it a try. I think you're great (hey, you already know that) I love your music, the pwoer in it, it just so great, everytime I hear "Born To Run" or any other song, it makes me go crazy, dancing, playing my guitar as loud as I can, it's an awsome feeling. tonight, I'm joining for a one time deal to this band which plays here on a barroom every Saturday night, so tonight I'm joining them for one song "Born In The USA", I asked them if I could, and they agreed, and I'm excited, but I have to start somewhere and just play and sing as well as I can!. I really do hope I'll see you in concerts, I feel it in my bones, I just have to. You're going to be 4/5 hours flight from my place and I had a chance to see you, but I had started college :-( . Anyway, I'll keep hoping and dreaming, in the end, I believe it will come true. I'll see you! Hen

From The Rev (Keith Hardy) in Baltimore - God bless you Bruce, for your inspiration all these years. Saw you in '74, I think it was, in the Lafayette College gym. As we struggle to rebuild community here in Baltimore, few hymns inspire me as much as "The Rising" and "Land of Hope and Dreams". Any chance we could use them in our congegational worship? I'm a Philly boy who spent many summers "Growin' Up" at the Jersey shore and even married a "Jersey Girl" who watched the Towers rise from her bedroom window in Clifton. I am blessed to have a poet like you to sing the phases of my life. God bless you always! pastorhardy@comcast.net

On "the Line" what is meant by "the tape across his chest" This has bothered me for about six years now. Hope to be enlightened. Thanks for the great music that has accompanied me throughout many stages of life. Paul pakerzonia@compuserve.de

Mr. Springsteen, I saw your show this week in KC -- it was truly a moving experience, almost spiritual for me. I am 29 years old, so I was never able to see you before in concert, I have been waiting for that moment since I was just a young girl listening to my older brothers albums - Thunder road is my all time favorite!. Thank you so much for the passion you put into your shows, it is so nice as a fan to see a musician play like they truly love what they do! It makes me want to find my true passion in life. Your rendition of “Going to KC” blew me away! I can truly say if I died tomorrow I died a happy women! On a personal note, I want to thank you for putting into words for my generation what we as nation felt after 9/11. It was a true gift, to only to the nation but the family who lost loved ones. It has helped my heart mend. God Bless You Bruce! And thank you for always being true to yourself because it shows in your music

PS: I know Wichita Kansas is small potatoes. But, if you ever get the urge to be around a bunch blue collar Americans - It’s a great town, which loves the boss!

God Speed

Just attended your concert tonight in Kansas City. I have always wanted to attend one, but have always sold out in past before I could get tickets. Fantastic show. Where can I get a copy of the live version of "Going to Kansas City" you closed the show with? That was the best rendition of it I ever heard.

Hello, good morning. I am a great one fan yours and of your music from Barcelona, the past 13 of September the 18,000 entrances for the only concert in our city were put on sale, became by Internet, telephone and in the official stores, the result was that the people only obtained to entrances who made tail from the previous day, because the Web she did not work, the telephone collapse and, by reasons for work, I can not to present to me in the morning before the 10, when the tails already were very, very long. We were really thousands of people who we do not have entrances due to the bad organization of the promoters. I want, at personal level, and if it is possible, that you sent two entrances to me of the type that is or says to me as it can obtain them without my poor economy is affected. I am sure that it will not return to me to happen, so that I will be the first of the tail next time. I know that are a difficult task, but I the 11 of September of the 2001 was in NY and what was lived was something special that I don´t returned to remember since I listened to the songs of the new LP like The Rising. or In to the Fire. for example. I understand that perhaps is not the only person who sends a seemed letter to you, not if this arrived, but I emotions to much to me when I listened to these songs. Thank you very much and as your good you say: Born to Run. My direction of mail is: juanma.torres@amena.com

Dear Bruce, I don'timagine you will ever see this but I had to tell somebody. My 75 year old mother is staying with me and has started reading the book, "The promise of Bruce Springsteen"(which I picked up on the discount rack at Borders a few months back) Now, I have always been a fan, but I was truly touched when I overheard my 9 year old daughter telling my mother, "He's a really nice guy, I saw him being interviewed on TV and you can just tell he's really nice and he doesn't think he's ALL THAT either. Bruce, you are truly multi-generational! Love Ya!!

Hey Bruce, I know, you get a lot of letters from a lot of fans, I don't know if you really read'em, I hope you do...if not, I gave it a shot. I'm from Israel, I'm 19 years old girl, and I really love you, I love your music, the power in you music, I love it all!, you have no idea, I have to, I want to! I just have to see you in concertS!, this is my biggest dream, I want to see you, front row in concert, I know, big dreams, but a person can dream can't she?!. Anyway.. I really do hope you'll read this one, don't realy know what anyone can do 'bout it... in the meantime, I'll continue to Rock my whole neighborhood as loudly as I can, and I will still comtinue to play your music on my guitar, and who knows... maybe, someday, I will get the chance of seeing you on stage, live, front row, and maybe even meet you, after all like you once said, "Is a dream a lie if it don't come true"?. And in this tone I won't say goodbye, but I will say Hope to see you someday, Hen, from Israel, Peace.

long time fan, but very dissappointed. it amazes me that a lot of fans only bought your concert tickets to re sell them on e bay or to be put on this ticketsnow website. they are asking anywhere from 200 to 500 dollars a ticket to see you. i could have had 4 tickets at the bradley center, but they were in back of the band and for an experience of a lifetime i wanted it to be the best, so i didn't take them and before i could get back in the concert was sold out. now i'm not crying that is the chance that i took and i lost. what really gets me is the amount of people that got tickets and had no plans of seeing you and only had plans of makung money off your concert. ther are a lot of hard working people who would have thought the world to see you and understand the right way to do things, but when they didn't get the chance to purchase a ticket because these gold diggers, well that is just as you would say is just bullshit.now i know that these tickets will sell to rick cat joe or a couple that can't really afford it but will pay the price. and they will make it. i just hope these scalpers can live with themselves. i know yo're a wealthy man and a busy man, but isn't there some kind of control you can put on these criminals.think about it . you are a hard working american icon, you have had to work for a living you know what iit is like to struggle. just think about the unjust actions toward true fans. i'll still listen to your music and who knows maybe your concert will come out on dvd like the hbo one so i can enjoy it. bruce and the estreet band you are american heroes wether you want to be or not yuo are. you represent dreams. god bless you folks and keep rocking on

Bruce, You will probably never read my message, but I have to write down how much it hurts that I will have to miss your concert in Ahoy in October. I stood in line the whole night waiting to buy tickets, but being number 9 in the line, the tickets were sold out at number 8. This is the first concert my husband and I will have to miss since 1983. It really makes me sad and I just hope you realize how very disappointing this is for your greatest fans in Holland. I heard you played the Continental Arena for days, please consider an extra night in Holland so that maybe we will get lucky then. But even so, I remain a fan for life. Anna

dear bruce,

i think i am one of your greatest fans in germany.. :-) but at tha moment i am really disappointed: your only concert in berlin, germany, 20th of october 2002 has been sold out before the card-selling really began... all stores selling cards complained about receiving too litte contingent of tickets. whole berlin is asking the question: WHERE ARE ALL THE TICKETS?

i really don't know, if this message reaches one of your stuff in time.

i know every single note of your music and read certain biographies, but i never saw you live on stage. and this time it seems to be the same... it began, when i missed your concert in "waldbuehne berlin" in 1985, when i returned from a holiday with my parents 2 hours after the show began... shit! ;-)

does anybody out there have an idea how to buy two tickets for the concert in berlin? if yes, send an e-mail to thomasleidenroth@yahoo.de or call me any time you want under +49-30-20616923

thanks a lot for at least reading this message...

fan thomas

Hi Bruce,

I really don't think you will read this but i feel better giving it a shot anyway. I am a single mom of a 10 year old boy and we live in a remote tourist town(Minocqua, WI.). I have been an avid fan of yours since 1975 and have seen you in concert 6 times-not enough. Anyway, I used to work at a bank up here and assisted some visitors with their ATM card getting stuck in our machine. I looked at the name and with amazement saw Springsteen. I chuckled and asked politely, "Any relation?" The girl and her father said she was your cousin and he was your Uncle. Whether true or not it sure made my day! Iwas shot for the rest of the afternoon. Anyway, we don't get too much advertisement about you up here-I know your touring with the E Street Band. I'd love to see you again in concert and be able to have my boy enjoy the excitement that you produce on stage. It is by far incredible and unable to explain unless a person sees it for themselves. If not, maybe someday you will show your face in Minocqua at the propane company I work for and need your gas grill cylinder filled. I'd love to hear from you. E-Mail to kevy61@newnorth.net

How could the author of "the Ghost of Tom Joad", "41 shots", and all the songs of the albums Nebraska or Born in the Usa tell to Time that he thinks the invasion in Afghanistan was handled very, very smoothly.

These statements, which press and TV broadcast, can cause negative effects:

a)The least criticals can adopt this attitude and join in the mass of stupids who accept as a just or as an inevitable actions the reduction of freedom, the consolidation of the state of emergency, the massacre and extermination of whole towns by the Bush's fancyful plans.

b)Others who have a clearer conscience of the terrible Bush plans and his thugs could reinforce the opinion that all the americans are the same (arrogant, imperialist, ignorant,...) and we all must wait a lot of marines die in Irak to ear a critical shout again.

Considering that the Springsteen's tour has started (August/October: USA-14 to 27 october: Europe- November... USA), and this concerts will be one of the musical events of the year to very people, it would be important that someone cold make Springsteen see the enourmus damage he's doing to the ideas he's always said he argue, trusting he will be capable to correct (it could do credit to him), or at least he must shut up and doesn't say nonsenses.

Dear Bruce I have no reason to think that you will really read this but I just got home form your concert at the Garden and it was awesome!!! I lost someone on 9/11 and we have planned a golf outing on Sept 16 to raise money for a scholarship fund in his name. His name is Douglas Miller and he was a NYC firefighter in Resucue 5 out of Staten Island. Doug left 3 young girls and we are looking for donations-ie: an autographed CD or T-shirt to auction off to raise money for this fund. If you can help us we would be very grateful. Please email etracey9686@aol.com and let me know if you are able to help. I know you must be flooded with requests of this type, but I thought I would see if you could help. Doug's sister gave birth to twin girls on June 30th- her 3rd and 4th babies- and we all seem to feel like this is Doug's reminder that life is good and it should go on and we should celebrate the good and not mourn the bad forever. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you. Eileen Tracey

Dear Bruce Springsteen, contact Elton John, about my idee, best regards Paul Quekel

Dear Elton John, go to Johannesburg with a new song for all the children in the world. We are all children and we need all together a New World. I ask you kindly to write a song and sing this song with colleague singers as many as possible. Make a John Lennon revival.

The world is running into an individual madness. Visite the website www.sdnl.nl and New Rain Forest, My idee for a better world. It is in Dutch

Best regards,

Paul Quekel

Grotestraat 413 5142 CB Waalwijk The Netherlands

0031 416 563055.

This is my idee for a new song, perhaps you can use it:

We are the children, the children from children We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Never forget our creation based on peace and love

Lofty between people and people

Between people and animals

Between animals and animals

Connected by the love of the world, all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Remember the air, the plants and water

Born in the World of our existence

Forget the war, forget the sorrow

Stop the egoism inside yourself

Find the new way of love all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Stop the illness and starving for all the children

Give them hope and future for a better live

Be the true leader for all the people

Give new happiness for all the living creatures

Give them breath of live, with a new life spring all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Rebuilt a new way of live for the world

Because we have the love, all the love for life

Our life for all the children for a better world

The destination of the world is our responsibility

Give love and peace to the children, all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Make our lives valuable for health and beauty

Change for the better world is still a great possibility

Give our world a new virginity off love and peace

Demanded to the world Leaders by the children

Let born the new love in our peaceful world, all together.

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

World Summit on Sustainable Development

Greenpeace to Bush: Go to Johannesburg

Earth Summit

Just months before he lost his re-election bid to Bill Clinton, George Bush Sr. reluctantly attended the first Earth Summit, the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This historical meeting was attended by 172 nations and 108 government leaders.

The landmark agreements that resulted from the meeting include:

Agenda 21 the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, the Statement of Forest Principles, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity.

Ten years later, President George W. Bush is faced with the moral challenge of the 2002 UN World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) this August in Johannesburg, South Africa. This conference will focus on setting the course for the 21st century to solve the plight of the world's poor. Some 60,000 people are expected to attend the meetings and parallel conferences. In order to truly address the world's global environmental and development problems, it is imperative for George W. Bush to attend this meeting, and show the international community that the U.S. is ready to participated in cleaning up the planet.

About 1/3 of the world's human population lives without access to modern energy sources, like electricity. As access to energy grows, force governments to ensure that energy developers choose clean energy development and stop forcing dirty power on the people and our environment!

The Johannesburg Earth Summit presents a chance for the Bush Administration to use the power of the United States to achieve real progress, tackle poverty and gain real security for the planet. But it will not be progress if all it achieves is opening doors for U.S. corporate enterprise around the world. Progress and lasting security will only be achieved by helping developing countries leapfrog our dirty polluting path of development and start fresh with renewable energy, clean transportation, sustainable forest conservation policies and clean production technologies in manufacturing and agriculture.

In the end, the relationship between the Bush Administration and corporate America may be too strong to allow room for progressive development policy. If that is the case, the U.S. must not be allowed to obstruct governments of the world as they lay out a vision of a secure future with clean development. Bush must go to Johannesburg and join world leaders in concrete commitments to tackle poverty. It will be a national disgrace not to attend this historic meeting. The United States, the most powerful and consumptive economy on the planet must lead the world to solutions.

Ten Years After Rio The embarrassing fact is that ten years after the Rio Earth Summit, we have done little to solve the unfolding environmental catastrophe that stands to undo both the planet's natural systems and human societies around the world, especially in the less advantaged, so-called developing world.

The problems identified in Rio, and the solutions to those problems are ever more pressing. Global warming (climate change) and the need for a clean energy revolution were central to the agreements of Rio. Unfortunately, efforts to solve global warming and the restructuring of the world's energy economy are slow. The necessary and urgent move away from damaging, polluting fossil fuels and toward renewable clean energy technology like wind and solar power is blocked by the massive corporate base of big oil, big coal and power corporations. Corporations like ExxonMobil and others have worked for the last ten years to block governmental solutions to global warming. Meanwhile large multinational corporations, international financial institutions and ill-placed foreign aid continue to spread dirty power development in poor countries and start these nations down the wrong road.

Mapping out the Road from Rio to Johannesburg

World leaders still can use the chance to make the Earth Summit in Johannesburg a milestone to start the clean energy era, making the right choice for the world. Background documents detailing the proceedings of the preliminary rounds of the 2002 Earth Summit show that many governments have acknowledged the importance environmental threats, including global warming and have taken seriously the challenge of energy development in the developing world. However, they have yet to make environmental solutions central to the August meeting.

The Greenpeace ship the MV Esparanza will be in South Africa during the summit helping to focus world attention on the important decisions being made there. The ship's work is just part of Greenpeace's Countdown to Johannesburg, which will involve activities across the globe. Greenpeace is campaigning for governments to take the lead in global sustainability, and stop abdicating their responsibilities to corporations for protection of the planet.

A Call to Action!

Greenpeace is calling on governments around the world to commit to:

Ensuring access to sustainable, renewable sources of energy to the two billion of the world's poorest people who do not now have access to modern energy services; and Rapidly accelerating the development and use of renewable energy technologies in the developed world. Renewable energy can meet our energy needs, while also improving national and global security, enabling countries to develop in a sustainable manner, and reducing the threat of global warming.

Facts about renewable energy

The United States could satisfy all of its energy needs with solar plants on land 100 miles square in Nevada: Wind energy is the fastest growing energy source in the world and is now cost-competitive with conventional energy in good wind sites. Love that one. Can't wait to see more shows. I've been a fan since 1973. Never stop. We will always need you. Love Fran LaBella, Morrisville PA.

Dear Mr. Springsteen, My name is Linden Moore and I just turned 15 a few weeks ago. I highly doubt you will ever read this letter but I thought why not give it a try. I saw you perform in Mi. in 1999 when I had just turned 12. It is the best concert I have been to. I know you are just a normal human being just like the rest of us,but I just wanted to tell you your songs are amazing and I will never be able to fully appreciate them. Your song writing capabilities are unbelieveable! Your latest songs on Sept. 11 are some of your best. Thank you for caring about that and for putting your heart into every word. Your lyrics always mean something, every word. How different todays music is. I am attracted to your music because every song means something. Thank you for your beautiful music.(glory days was my favorite song when I was little) I will be seeing you on your upcoming tour in Michigan. God Bless! Linden Moore (Flint, Michigan) 1677 Woodburne Dr. 48503

I am a fan from down under (Australia, you know the large island south of the equator?). I have been a fan for more years than I would like to admit. My oldest daughter turns 22 years old this year to give you some idea. It seems to me that the fans from here are always left in the "Darkness on the edge of town" We missed out on The Born Run Tour, The River tours, the Human Touch Tours and the long awaited E street Band reunion. Yes, We did have the Born in the USA tour and Yes and after 12 LONG years we did get the Ghost of Tom Joad Tour..... but really not enough!!!!!.I hope that we will not be forgotten this time round. Australia felt your pain , your anguish, your suffering during the 9/11 tragedy. I watched with horror live on the TV the second plane crash into the WTC. Bruce's music is part of the healing process for all of us. This album is undoubtedly one of his best works. He is a gifted musician. Australian soldiers have once again taken the call to arms to fight along side Americans in the war against terrorism. We need Bruce's music to give us hope and strength for the future. Please don't forget us. From a dedicated fan from down under. Jedda Hingston.

Bruce, I am a fan and the new CD is great. Everyone is talking about how it relates to 9/11. I feel and I am saying this based on my own personal tragedy of losing my fiance in November of 2000. It should be inspiring to them it is a small way to help them feel better and to let them know all of us will remember that day forever. I have had many days since my fiance death that I didn't even want to get out of bed and carry on, but when you get up and listen to your music it gives you a good feeling inside! It can never make the pain go away, but it can help these people cope. Thank you for all of your music and your concerts are the best!! I hope to get to see you again in Tampa. You guys truely do it from the heart. Thanks, Frankie

Man, this man has helped me get through some tough times. It seems that when I am in a serious depression, he releases an album. The last time this happened was in 1992 with Human Touch/Lucky Town. Those albums saved my life. I am sure I am not the only one, but when he sings, it seems like it is me singing the words, he writes and sings with thoughts from deep inside that I relate to in a cery personal way. The new album just reaffirms it. When I first heard "Lonesome Day", I almost cried. He just has that knack. I have too many lonesome days and Bruce let me know that he does too. That is just refreshing. But, what's up with the violins? Just kidding-the album will be cherished-"Mary's Place" sounds like it came right off "The River!" That song just pumps me up the way that "Sherry Darling" does. I can't wait for the show in Atlanta. He kicked so much ass here on June 3rd 2000, I may shell out the bucks to get in the front row! Just to shake the man's hand! Thanks Bruce for always being there for me. See ya. My email is openallnight@attbi.com. Anyone who reads please let me know you did.

In the same way that your songs have always been an inspiration to the working class of America, I ask that you remember the firemen of NYC who responded on that awful day; and, that they sacrificed their lives for us all. These guys were my brothers, we are still attending their funerals. We will never forget them. Thanks. NYC Fr. Gene Renne

Hi, Bruce, well I have written many a letter to you in hopes that you would receive it..not sure that you have, or will. Anyway, there isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said OVER AND OVER! But here goes... You have made such a difference in my life. I know you are modest but you truly are the BEST musician EVER, your lyrics are amazing. Your performances leave me speachless (besides singing along and screaming BRUUUCE! that is) THANK YOU for staying true and bringing so much hope, joy, inspiration, to so many lives. My dream still remains to just once be lucky enough to stand in the front row of one of your concerts, but I have to admit just being there at all is a dream come true in itself. Hi to Patti, your children and of course the E Street Band! Thank you again, All my love and respect, Jennie Phillips Phillips1rj@juno.com

Which video was it...

In one of your music videos, you (The Boss) slides across stage smack into a lip-lock with your afro-american male guitarists (not that there's anything wrong with that, as Seinfeld would say). I thought it was real clever how you slip that in almost subliminally. It was so fast you almost miss it. Mick does stuff like this in his background lyrics; in She's So Cold you faintly hear "kill yourself"

I know that you will probably not read this, but I just want to tell you that I was born September 21, 1949 and you were born September 23, 1949. Me in Hackensack, NJ and you in Freehold, NJ. Loved all your music. I loved going down to the shore every year. This year, we can not go down on account of my husband has cancer.

We've been through the Vietnam War. I did and I'm sure you lost many friends. I'll never forget them.

Thanks for bringing such good music into the world. You are a genius.

Hey Bruce, I have always been a huge fan of yours and it looks as though we have a second generation of fans in our household. I watched your concert this morning on the Today Show and was reminded of how you are always in touch with the people and how you appeal to 'blue collar workers' If this is the case, why is it that our middle class family cannot afford the exorbitant ticket prices for your Houston concert. We would love to go but definately cannot afford to on our middle class income. Hope to purchase the c.d. with week. Debbie

Bruce: I don't know if you recall, but Ida Cullen, Richie Cullen's wife then, introduced us when the 1st album came out . I think it was Christmas of 1971, at the record shop in the Monmouth Mall. Many roads we have travelled since then, so I understand if you don't remember. Sorry to say Richie passed away last year. He was a good friend. I am glad to see all of your success and great influences in such positive directions since 1971. I had occasion to see Vinny Lopez in late 89 or early 90. He was surviving, living a few blocks south from Holy Spirit, where we went to school together in AP. Geez, I remember when he got his first pair of drum sticks and beat a little rubber pad. CYO dances w/him & Buzzy drumming came shortly after . Then his short stint with the band. I dont know how you & he get on anymore, but I hope he is well. I saw you on the Today Show this AM, and it reminded me of the early(Glory) days. Great music in old Convention Hall, once again. Man, AP is looking worn. Sure hope they go forward with that revitalization plan. I was moved by your performance . Glory Days was very appropriate, even more so, with respect to your opening with The Rising. Great symbolism! I think you made the venue proud today. I don't usually attempt to contact "famous" people, but in your interviews, you look well, and still seem somewhat like the guy I met in 1971. In that respect, I thought I would share the thoughts above, and wish you the continued meaningful success in your music that you work so hard to preserve. Take care and here is hoping you see this note. Best of luck with the new release. (Seems like I said that to you almost 31 years ago). Pax vobis cum. DEAR BRUCE, I haven't been able to see you in concert for many years. The cause was inability to purchase tickets. They are always sold out in seconds. Although, nothing can come close to the summer of '83 when I met you twice. (Steve's album party at The Pepprmint Lounge where you singned by white bandana with my eye liner pencil and outside Clarence's club in Red Bank the night you got onstage with Beaver Brown. I was 18 then, now I'm 38. That story is one of most cherished memories that my 3 children get to hear on a regular basis. It upsets me that I can't get tickets, but I just think about the day I was hugged by Bruce and that gets me over the fact that I'm unable to see you in concert. CANT AFFORD SCALPERS!

Where to start? I`m swedish and over here not many people understand my love for your music. They think that your music is great but they don ´t listen. They can hear it but they don ´t listen to it. I´m 17, 18 in october and I have my own guitar. But I play hockey better. I´m deeply mad about this girl and I write lovesongs to her, then I send them. Not on a computer. I don´t know why I write and tell you this. I don`t your help or anything like that. It´s just that every morning I have hang my pillow outside to dry `cause it`s all wet from the night. You see, I think about her before I go to sleep and my tears won`t stop fighting. She has that kind of hair that makes me wanna paint a masterpiece or write a song like you. I know that you write songs about everything that involves within an ordinary mans life but it`s your voice in a lovesong that I cry to. Once I had this torned -up flannel-shirt to school. The washer was broken. People in my class said that I reminded of you. I sing to them sometimes. When they wan`t me to sing. I was so proud of myself. They say I have a face of a model and a body so beautiful, but I hate it when they talk to me like that. I can`t remember the last time I had a girl ,so I ain`t buying it. I understand if Bruce won`t read this but the one who does it, thank you. When I was a boy I`d always just say that when I was 15 I`m gonna move to my grandma in Guthenburg. But she died before I got the chance. I loved her . She could laugh like no other. In august, my season will start an I´m gonna on the ice the whole winter. This is my life . Thanks for reading. I hope I`ll see a concert of your`s `cause you are the only one. Until then, sing like you`ve never done before! Simon

Your music and going to your conecrts have been a big part of mine and my husbands life the last 20 something years. You have helped us through alot of trying times. A few months ago he was sooo happy to get a 1982 Harley Stugis Classic motorcycle. I am not a big fan and called it his "suicide machine". On May 31st he was killed in an accident when a car did an illegal turn in front of him. It is by far the hardest thing in my life, however again your music has been there to help me cope. His best friend and his wife and i are hoping to get tickets to the Denver concert. One thing the four of us where always gonna do. Well now it will just be the three of us. But my husband's soul and spirit will be strong with us at that concert. Thanks Again For It All. Kathy Sorahan

I heard your new CD, "The Rising" and I loved it! I especially love the song, "The Rising". I've tried looking for the lyrics for that song, but I couldn't find them anywhere. I was just wondering, if maybe you could send me the lyrics to "The Rising" to me at Jawsoccer48@aol.com. I would highly appreciate it, but if not I understand. You are a very busy man!

Thanks, Jawsoccer48@aol.com
